What happens when you see a Physiotherapist ?
Initially you will be asked about the history of your condition and your general medical health.
You will undergo a physical assessment for which you may be required to partially undress in order for an accurate examination to be made.
The assessment involves looking at movement, joint and muscle function, posture and ergonomics.
A diagnosis will be made from the examination and an appropriate treatment plan will be discussed with you and carried out with your consent.
Physiotherapy treatment may require active participation in the form of exercises, stretching and postural stability exercises. You may also be encouraged to increase general activity levels.
